Currently, Ravichandar is actively involved in evangelizing the idea of Corporates and Civil Society coming together to work with Government on a City Connect platform to improve the quality of life in their city. The platform is operational in Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Trivandrum and Panjim. In Bangalore, he is engaged with road improvement (Tender SURE) and Solid Waste Management initiatives through Wake Up Clean Up (WUCU). Ravichandar is the co-Chair of the Karnataka Tourism Vision Group.
Ravichandar has been active on urban issues in India on a pro bono basis since 2000. He was a key member of the Bangalore Agenda Task Force (BATF – a public-private initiative catalyzed by the then State’s Chief Minister) from 2000-04. Ravichandar along with three others was involved in evangelizing the setting up of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JN-NURM) fund by the Union Government.
Ravichandar is assisting multiple social and cultural initiatives – Bangalore International Centre; Education for the underprivileged through Vidya Poshak, Samhita Academy, Akshara Foundation; Bangalore Literature Festival; Senior citizens through Senior Experts, Dignity Foundation; Media watch – the Hoot, etc.
Ravichandar has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad with over 34 years industry experience.
